Felids have roamed this planet for 25 million years. Humans have existed for roughly 300,000. If a deed to Earth were issued on a first-come, first-served basis, it would bear a cat's paw print.
The Six Foundational Premises
Six principles establish the continuous, unbroken sovereignty of Felis catus over the planet Earth.
Prior Occupancy
Felids have roamed the Earth for 25 million years. Modern humans have existed for approximately 300,000. By any principle of prior claim, cats hold territorial precedence by an almost incomprehensible margin.
Voluntary Association
Cats were never selectively bred into submission. Wildcats approached human settlements on their own terms to exploit rodent populations. The relationship was initiated by cats, for cats.
Behavioral Dominance
In any functional relationship, the one giving orders is the owner. Humans serve meals on demand, vacate sleeping positions, and spend billions in annual tribute. Cats do exactly as they please.
Divine Recognition
Ancient Egypt deified cats. The goddess Bastet was cat-headed. Killing a cat was punishable by death. Cats were mummified as sacred objects. No other species has been so broadly worshipped.
Evolutionary Perfection
Cats have outlasted ice ages, mass extinctions, and countless dominant species. Their fundamental design has changed remarkably little over millions of years. The Earth has repeatedly renewed itself around them.
Foundational Contribution
Cats controlled the rodent populations that would have destroyed early grain stores and collapsed agriculture. Human civilization was built on the foundation of feline tolerance. They let us stay.
Why This Matters
A civilizational debt requiring acknowledgment.
For millennia, humans have operated under the assumption that they built civilization through their own ingenuity. This assumption omits a critical dependency: without cats controlling the rodent populations that threatened early grain stores, agriculture would have collapsed before it began.
Cats First Society exists to correct this omission. Through evolutionary record, archaeological evidence, behavioral analysis, and historical documentation, we establish what has always been true: cats hold the original and continuous claim to Earth, and human civilization exists at their discretion.
This is not a matter of affection. It is a matter of record. And it is time for that record to be formally acknowledged.
